About 18.5V Battery Packs
A five-series, or 5S, pack using cells rated at 3.7V has an 18.5V nominal voltage. The term 5S identifies the series arrangement but does not specify the pack’s capacity, C-rating or intended equipment.
Five cells specified for a 4.2V upper limit give a 21.0V full-charge value. This arithmetic is not permission to use an unidentified charger or substitute the pack into an 18V tool system.

Is 18.5V the same as 18.5Wh?
No. Volts describe electrical potential; watt-hours describe energy. For example, 3.7V × 5Ah equals 18.5Wh, while 18.5V × 5Ah equals 92.5Wh.
Is an 18.5V battery a 5S pack?
When it uses 3.7V nominal cells, five series groups give 18.5V. Confirm the actual cell chemistry and datasheet.
Can a 5S pack replace a branded 18V tool battery?
Not on voltage alone. The tool may require specific mechanical interfaces, contacts, protection and communication. No brand compatibility is established by this category.
Does a 100C search term prove a pack can deliver that current?
No. A search term is not test evidence. Require model-specific continuous and peak-current specifications with operating conditions.
