An 11.1V pack made from 3.7V nominal cells has three series groups, abbreviated 3S. The series count sets voltage; the cell capacity and parallel arrangement determine the pack’s Ah rating.
With cells specified for a 4.2V charge limit, a 3S pack reaches 12.6V. That does not make it interchangeable with every battery sold as 12V. Check the entire operating voltage range and charging method.

Is an 11.1V battery a 3S battery?
For a pack using 3.7V nominal lithium cells, yes: three series groups give 11.1V nominal. Always verify the chemistry and model specification.
Can I charge an 11.1V battery with a 12V power supply?
A power supply is not automatically a suitable battery charger. Use the specified charge profile, current limit and protection for the exact pack.
How do I select capacity for an 11.1V pack?
Estimate the energy needed for the operating period, then check current demand independently. Nominal Wh equals 11.1 multiplied by Ah; usable energy will depend on operating conditions.
Can an 11.1V pack replace a 12.8V LiFePO4 pack?
Do not assume interchangeability. The chemistry, charge limit and discharge window differ, and the device and charger need to support the replacement.
